YOUR BUSINESS SALE
Prepare Equipment and Inventory Records for Buyers
A buyer needs to know which assets are included, who owns them and what condition they are in. Clear equipment and stock records reduce uncertainty when an offer becomes a detailed agreement.

Create one reliable equipment register
Record a plain description, location, ownership and finance status for each important asset. Keep purchase and maintenance documents with the register. See Memphis Business Brokers Team for sale guidance.
Separate leased equipment, customer property and items you plan to retain. Have advisors confirm releases for liens and other finance obligations.
Distinguish usable stock from book value
Prepare an inventory aging report and identify damaged, obsolete and customer specific items. Explain how the accounting records are reconciled with physical counts.
Agree the counting date and valuation approach with the buyer through your advisors. Do not leave material stock assumptions until the day of closing.
Connect assets to the operating business
Explain which equipment is essential and where replacement spending may be needed. Capacity claims should match the work and condition you can document.
Asset records support the broader earnings story. The sum of original purchase prices is not, by itself, a valuation of the company.
